dazmaz Hearing Sianna's voice after so long is a beautiful thing. Her and Ben work well together, and their CD has spent quite some time in my trusty OPPO player. Favorite track: Songlines.

Songlines 05:03
Dog, get running. Fox will hide. Prowling panther, black, disguised. Heart beats faster, synthesized by your desire, your desire. Long is the night, when you’re out on the line. The medicine works on us all sometimes. Dark is the night, when you’re out on the line. The medicine works on us all sometimes. Darkest hour, 2 degrees. Trigger freezing, ghosts are dancing. Can you hear that ringing sound? Snakes are digging way down, way down. Long is the night, when you’re out on the line, the medicine works on us all sometimes. Dark is the night, when you’re out on the line, the medicine works on us all sometimes. Weatherboards, peeling paint. The land out here is wide like an ocean. Secret songlines, ancient rites. I’m just new here, I’m so small here. Long is the night, when you’re out on the line, the medicine works on us all sometimes. Dark is the night, when you’re out on the line, the medicine works on us all sometimes.

Tourmaline 04:10
Hot dry wind through the fly screen. Curtains dance around the shadows. Your heart knows it’s more fool him, to break that little love like, break that little love like he did. Crystal clear silence, central lines of darkness in the heart of Tourmaline. So many stars, so far out here. Sleepless nights. Desolation. The code of the last frontier will break your little love like, break your little love like he did. Satellites are falling, distant planets turning in the heart of Tourmaline.

Bronzewing 03:43
There is new blood flowing through my veins. Two heartbeats that are not the same. If you’ve made it this far you have a gift from the sticky seed of the subconscious. Waiting to find out where you fit in the scheme of things, as you turn your head to the call of the bronze wing.

Motel Pool 05:00
Standing on the edge of a motel pool, road train paint the windows different colours, as we dive into the blue. Television in room 4, air conditioners broken, lizards move like shadows on the walls. And we float calm on the water, calm on the water. And we rise out the water, out the water. Levitating. Transistor sounds…channel changes, changes channel, transforming to a higher ground. Form one heart beat, above the street. A half rotation as one being, head out over the sea. And we fly over the water, over the water. And we dance over the water, over the water. Trans Pacific, return flight, low across the coastlands, horizon blinding morning light. And we fly over the mountains. And we dance high on the mountains.

You are the hunter, cinema noir. Cold as a glacier, bright like a star. With that ability to find me out, that ability to cut me down: I run, run. I am the hunted, another man marked. Low in the daytime, move through the dark. With that ability to track me down, that ability to turn me on. I run, run. The grassfires burn along the narrow stretch of road: run, run. The coal train carrying a heavy load: run, run. You are the diamond, cut for one kind. I am the naked, I am the blind. With that ability to sign me up, that ability to tune me in: I run, run. The grassfires burn along the narrow stretch of road: run, run. The coal train carries such a heavy load: run, run. I’m burning up inside and then it’s cold: run, run. The grassfires burn along the narrow stretch of road: run, run.

Your satellite spins balanced between lover’s first kiss and broken promises. You don’t mind the comfort of strangers; you say that cold is the company you keep. Now the current is dragging you down and heavy weighs the crown. Take off those high heels, wrap your arms around me, hold me tight. I know its getting cold out, it’s really not too far now, I’ll take your weight. Baby, don’t laugh, it could happen to you in a flash: love on the counter attack. Walk through a smoke screen like a pretty little dilettante, hit them with another dream then hit them with a drum roll. I know at times you don’t want to believe that days like these can disappear but they do. So baby, don’t laugh, it could happen to you in a flash: love on the counter attack. I’ve said it all once but I’ll say it again, I’ve flown my white flag, S.O.S, now a red-letter day, a chance to digress. Can you hear my serenade? Baby, don’t laugh, it could happen to you in a flash: love on the counter attack.

Disconnected 03:29
Two worlds start to align. I see their reflections spinning into one like they’re out to eclipse the sun. And you better believe that I’m on your side. I might seem slightly disconnected, I might seem disconnected because you are just waking me up. The new world is waiting outside. We dance on a razor. Youth is wasted on the young; a common thought so I bite my tongue. And you better believe that I’m on your side. I might seem slightly disconnected, I might seem disconnected because you are just waking me up. Moon rises high on the sea. Wild eyes are open. Entangled colours on the waves, like it’s for you and me. And you better believe that I’m on your side. I might seem slightly disconnected, I might seem disconnected because you are just waking me up.

Love and War 04:11
9.
The city’s dressed all in silhouette. Apollo’s horse, burnt horizon. Traffic heading out, lovers heading in. Hypnotic call of the siren. Then you said the strangest thing; you said you get what you want on the day you prepare to lose everything. And those dark clouds keep rolling in, but it comes at a cost if you’re constantly lost under that weight your lifting. We walk the Saint-Michel Boulevard, the university where the lights in the trees were like falling stars. We shared your last cigarette, you turned to me and gave me a look I could never forget. Then you did the strangest thing; you drew my hand to your heart and suddenly I could feel everything. Those dark clouds kept rolling in, more like a Catherine wheel, multi-coloured and real under the weight you lifted.

I can’t count the times I’ve walked cross golden fields, barefoot for many miles to where the grass is greener. But no surprise, it’s all disguise, the apple tastes no sweeter. I think back, think back to you. You said “Get out of bed, better comb your hair now. Hollywood won’t come to you. You gotta set you sights, take a chance and realise your talents. Don’t walk alone, take hope with you.” Could my heaven be an empty room? With just a rug on the floorboards, no art on these white walls? Where I don’t speak, where I don’t move, I just feel the love. The love you’re giving, the love we’re making.
